Trishakti (1999)

Trishakti is a 1999 Hindi action drama and the directing debut of Madhur Bhandarkar, with Arshad Warsi, Milind Gunaji and Sharad Kapoor in the leading roles. It came out with little attention and did poorly at the box office, and Bhandarkar has spoken of the difficult start it gave his career. He found his voice two years later with Chandni Bar (2001), which won National Awards and set the realist style of his later films such as Page 3, Corporate and Fashion. For viewers who follow his work, Trishakti is a curiosity from before that turn, and an early outing for Arshad Warsi, three years after his debut in Tere Mere Sapne.
