Ullam Kollai Poguthae is a Tamil romantic comedy-drama from Sundar C, a director known for crowd-pleasing entertainers. Prabhu Deva plays a carefree young man who falls for a girl played by Anjala Zaveri, while Karthik plays an older figure in their lives whose own past in love shapes how the story unfolds. The film moves between light comedy, with Vivek providing much of the fun, and emotional drama as feelings are revealed and loyalties tested. Its soundtrack by Karthik Raja was popular, and the dance numbers make the most of Prabhu Deva's skills as one of India's best dancers. The film was a success and is remembered fondly as one of the more charming of Sundar C's early films. The Hindi version is known as Yeh Kaisa Pyar Ka Rishta.
