Union Leader (2017)

Jay works in a chemical factory in Gujarat, where the pay is poor and the dangerous working conditions slowly destroy the health of the men on the floor. He wants nothing more than to save enough to send his son to a good school and move his wife, played by Tillotama Shome, out of their cramped life. But when the management's neglect becomes impossible to ignore, Jay finds himself standing up for his fellow workers, and the cost of leadership falls on his own family. The film is a grounded, realist drama about labour rights in India's industrial belt set among factory workers. It played at international festivals and features a strong lead performance by Rahul Bhat.
