Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)

Major Vihaan Singh Shergill is a decorated special-forces officer who has asked for a desk posting in Delhi to care for his ailing mother. In September 2016 militants attack the army base at Uri in Kashmir, killing nineteen soldiers, including people close to him. The government decides to respond, and Vihaan returns to lead a team on a covert operation across the Line of Control, planned with the help of intelligence officers and new surveillance technology. Uri dramatises the real surgical strikes of 2016 in a tight, five-chapter structure. The film became one of the biggest hits of 2019, its line "How's the josh?" entered everyday speech, and it won four National Film Awards, including Best Director for debutant Aditya Dhar and Best Actor for Vicky Kaushal. Much of it was filmed in Serbia.
