Lenin and his friends take jobs at a chemical factory near their small town in Tamil Nadu, but Lenin soon sees that safety is being ignored and that the plant is quietly poisoning the people around it. When a gas leak turns his fears into a tragedy, the friends find that the factory owners, politicians and caste leaders all have reasons to bury the truth, and they decide to fight back. Uriyadi 2 is a standalone follow-up to Vijay Kumar's gritty indie hit Uriyadi (2016), again written, directed by and starring him. It was produced by actor Suriya's banner, and its story was widely seen as drawing on the memory of the Bhopal gas tragedy. Govind Vasantha's music adds to its angry, urgent tone.
