V (2020)

DCP Aditya is the pride of the Hyderabad police: decorated, admired and used to winning. Then a mysterious killer who calls himself V begins murdering people one by one and taunting Aditya with clues, daring him to work out who is next. As the bodies pile up and Aditya's reputation crumbles, he teams up with Apoorva, a crime-fiction writer, to understand what drives V, and the hunt leads back to a story buried in the past. V was Nani's 25th film and an unusual role for him as the antagonist, while Sudheer Babu plays the hero cop. Directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti, who had earlier made Ashta Chamma with Nani, it was one of the first big Telugu films released straight to streaming, in September 2020.
