Vaazhthugal (2008)

Vaazhthugal ("Greetings") is a Tamil family drama directed by Seeman, the film-maker and Tamil nationalist politician. R. Madhavan plays a young man with strong feelings about how families should care for their elders, and Bhavana plays the woman he falls for, whose family becomes part of his mission. Running alongside the romance is the film's central message against abandoning aged parents to old-age homes. The film was noted for Seeman's insistence on dialogue in pure Tamil, avoiding English words, which became a talking point on release. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the songs. It is a sincere, message-driven family film, gentle in tone.
