Vajrakaya is a Kannada action entertainer from director A. Harsha, who worked repeatedly with star Shiva Rajkumar. Shiva Rajkumar plays a hero with a past, and the film moves from romance and comedy to family drama and full-blown action as old enemies resurface. It marked the screen debut of Nabha Natesh, who went on to work in Telugu cinema, with Shubra Aiyappa in the second female lead. Arjun Janya's music and the dance numbers were a large part of its appeal, and the Hindi version was released under the title Shivalinga 2, though it has no connection to Shiva Rajkumar's Shivalinga.
