Gopikrishnan, a sharp IPS officer, is put in charge of tracking down a terror group planning a major attack in India. Working alongside Anwar, an officer with a personal stake in the fight, he uncovers a network that stretches across borders and reaches into the police itself. While the investigation moves from city to city, the two men must also deal with suspicion, politics and threats to their own families. Vandae Maatharam was made in both Malayalam and Tamil, pairing Malayalam superstar Mammootty with Arjun Sarja, who was known for patriotic action films such as Jai Hind. It reaches Hindi audiences as Mission Vande Mataram.
