Sandeep, a well-educated young man, surprises his family by asking for an old-fashioned arranged marriage: he will marry a bride chosen by his parents without meeting her first, in a full five-day traditional ceremony. The wedding rituals unfold with great colour, but just as he begins to know his bride Deepthi, she is abducted by Diwakar, a violent man obsessed with her. The festive family drama turns into a hunt as Sandeep sets out to bring her back. Gunasekhar, known for the hit Okkadu and later the period film Rudhramadevi, staged the lavish wedding sets on a grand scale. Tamil star Arya made his Telugu debut as the villain, and the heroine's face was kept hidden throughout the film's publicity.
