Description

Vedi ("explosive") is a Tamil action film directed by Prabhu Deva, made between his Hindi hits Wanted and Rowdy Rathore. Vishal plays a police officer who arrives in Kolkata under cover, where he romances Sameera Reddy's character while quietly watching over a young woman who turns out to be his sister, the only witness to a crime committed by a powerful gangster. The film is a remake of the Telugu action film Souryam (2008). It follows Prabhu Deva's template of stylised fights, comedy and peppy songs, the latter by Vijay Antony. In Hindi it circulates as Ek Policewala.
