The Pindaris are a proud warrior clan betrayed by the King of Madhavgarh, who has sided with the British. Their chief, Prithvi Singh, sends his son Veer to study in London so that he can understand the enemy. There Veer meets and falls in love with Yashodhara, the princess of Madhavgarh, unaware at first of who she is. Back home, love and the old feud collide as the Pindaris rise against the king and the Company. Salman Khan wrote the story himself many years before the film was made, and it was the screen debut of Zarine Khan. Anil Sharma, director of Gadar, staged it on a grand scale with large battle scenes, period costumes and a soundtrack by Sajid–Wajid, including 'Surili Akhiyon Wale'.
