Vil Ambu (2016)

Vil Ambu ("bow and arrow") follows two young men from very different backgrounds in Chennai. One drifts on the wrong side of the law in a working-class neighbourhood; the other is a middle-class youth with his own problems and a budding romance. They do not know each other, yet a series of small decisions and accidents keeps linking their fortunes, each one setting off consequences in the other's life. The film is built as a criss-crossing narrative in which the pieces gradually fall into place. Sri, known from Vazhakku Enn 18/9, and Harish Kalyan, who became a popular romantic lead in later years, share the screen, with Srushti Dange in a key role.
