Wafadaar (1985)

Wafadaar ("loyal") is a Hindi family drama directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, the prolific Telugu filmmaker who also made several Hindi films in the 1980s. Rajinikanth, Padmini Kolhapure and Vijay Arora lead the cast in a story of loyalty, marriage and family obligations in the melodramatic style of the period. It comes from the years when Rajinikanth, already a superstar in the South, was regularly appearing in Hindi films, and it is of interest mainly to fans of his Hindi work and of 1980s family melodrama.
