Description

An episode of Wagon Train, the American western that ran from 1957 to 1965 and was for two seasons the most watched programme on American television. Its structure was unusual and much copied: the wagon master and his crew are the only regulars, and each week the story belongs to a guest passenger whose name is usually the episode title. That made it an anthology with a frame, and it is the format Gene Roddenberry explicitly pitched Star Trek against — "Wagon Train to the stars". Season 7, episode 709: "Ep 709 - The Eli Bancroft Story".
