Krishna runs a traditional oil mill that supplies his village and the surrounding area, and he is something of a protector to the people who depend on it. A powerful industrialist who wants a monopoly on edible oil sets out to crush every small mill, by fair means or foul, and Krishna's business and family pay the price. Down but not finished, he rebuilds from scratch and takes the fight back to the businessman. Yajamana ("master" or "head of the house") was a major hit for Darshan and one of Rashmika Mandanna's last Kannada films before her move to wider stardom. It was the directorial debut of composer V. Harikrishna, co-directed with Pon Kumaran, and his songs were chart-toppers in Karnataka.
