Zulm Ki Zanjeer (1981)

Zulm Ki Zanjeer is the Hindi version of the 1981 Tamil film Ranuva Veeran, directed by S. P. Muthuraman, Rajinikanth's most frequent director in his early stardom. Rajinikanth plays a soldier who comes home to a village living in fear of a bandit gang, and Sridevi is the leading lady. The film is a rare meeting of two future superstars on opposite sides: Chiranjeevi, soon to become the biggest star of Telugu cinema, plays the villain. It is a straightforward village action drama of the era, of interest mainly for that pairing.
