Wajahat Mirza

Dialogue writer; Mother India and Mughal-e-Azam (1908-1990)

Wajahat Mirza wrote the screenplay and dialogue of this film, and the title card spells him Vajahat. He went on to write for Mehboob Khan repeatedly, including Mother India, and to share the dialogue credit on Mughal-e-Azam - so a reasonable claim can be made that he wrote the two most quoted scripts in Hindi cinema. His manner is the opposite of showy: the lines in this film do the work of the scene and then stop.
