Vasco da Gama in Goa is split between two gangs: the Christian Eagles, led by the swaggering Max, and the Bichhoos, led by the hot-tempered Prakash. Max's twin sister Shirley falls for Rahul, Prakash's gentle brother who has just returned to town, and the romance inflames the old feud between the families. Underneath it lies a secret from the past that could change everything. Josh is loosely inspired by West Side Story and gives Shah Rukh Khan one of his most stylish roles, singing his own song Apun Bola in the film. It was directed by Mansoor Khan, who made Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, and its Goan streets, churches and seaside settings give it a distinct look.
