Ek Se Badhkar Ek (1976)

Ek Se Badhkar Ek, "each one better than the last", is a 1976 Hindi crime caper directed by Brij, the filmmaker behind thrillers such as Victoria No. 203. Raaj Kumar brings his trademark style and dialogue delivery to the lead, with Navin Nischol and Sharmila Tagore in the other main roles, in a story of rival schemers, disguises and double crosses. It belongs to the strand of lightly comic 1970s thrillers built around heists and smart talk, with songs by Kalyanji-Anandji. Few details of its production are widely documented.
