Dharmasthali is a sacred temple town where an ancient tradition of healing and devotion survives, and Padaghattam, the hamlet beside it, lives by that tradition. When a corrupt local strongman and a mining businessman set out to grab the land, a stranger called Acharya arrives and begins to strike back. Midway, the film reveals his connection to Siddha, a young man raised in the community's ways who once stood up for it. The film is the first in which Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan share the screen as full co-leads, and the fight scenes they play side by side were heavily promoted. Koratala Siva wrote it as a moral fable about temple wealth and greed. Kajal Aggarwal was originally cast as the heroine, but her role was cut from the final film. It was a box-office disappointment despite the star pairing.
