Surya, a brooding artist, and Gautham, a well-off young man, both fall deeply for Midhuna, and the film follows how their very different kinds of love, one possessive and one selfless, shape all three of their lives. It becomes a study of obsession, devotion and what love asks of each person. Set in the early 1990s and shot in soft, autumnal colours, it is much more of a mood piece than the average Telugu romance. It was the debut film of director Hanu Raghavapudi, who later made Sita Ramam, and of heroine Lavanya Tripathi, and Radhan's songs became popular with young audiences.
