Autonagar Surya (2014)

Surya grew up an orphan and spent part of his youth in jail. When he comes back to Autonagar, the sprawling auto-repair hub of Vijayawada, he finds work as a mechanic and starts to build a small enterprise of his own, but the area is controlled by union leaders and politicians who treat it as their property. His success threatens their grip, and the conflict grows into an open war. Samantha plays his childhood sweetheart Sirisha. Deva Katta, who had made the acclaimed Prasthanam, brought the same interest in power and politics to this film, though it was held up for years by production problems before it finally released in 2014. Naga Chaitanya's rugged look and the film's raw action set it apart from his romantic roles of the time.
