Surya grows up in Autonagar, the sprawling vehicle-repair quarter of Vijayawada, after a violent childhood that sends him to a juvenile home. Back among the garages as a young man, he becomes a skilled mechanic and inventor, falls in love with Sirisha, and gets pulled into the union politics and corruption that decide who gets to work and who gets crushed. Deva Katta, known for the hard-hitting Prasthanam, tells the story as a gritty social drama with bursts of action, and Naga Chaitanya plays one of his toughest roles. The film was shot around 2011 but its release was delayed until 2014, after Naga Chaitanya and Samantha's first pairing in Ye Maaya Chesave had already made them a popular screen couple.
