Description

Swarg Narak ("heaven and hell") is the Hindi remake of Dasari Narayana Rao's own Telugu hit Swargam Narakam, directed by Dasari himself. Its story follows married couples whose homes go in opposite directions: in one, ego, suspicion and quarrels turn domestic life into torment; in the other, understanding keeps the household together. Sanjeev Kumar, Jeetendra and Vinod Mehra lead a strong cast with Shabana Azmi and Moushumi Chatterjee. The film blends comedy and melodrama in the style of South Indian family films of the era and offers plain-spoken lessons about marriage.
