Chambal Ki Kasam (1999)

Chambal Ki Kasam ("an oath of the Chambal") is a Hindi dacoit drama with Ranjeet, Gulshan Grover and Shakti Kapoor, three actors who between them played many of Hindi cinema's most memorable villains. Set in the ravines of the Chambal, long the setting for Hindi films about bandits, it is a story of oaths, honour and revenge among outlaws and the landlords and police who oppose them. It is not to be confused with the 1980 film of the same name starring Raaj Kumar. A modest production, it follows the familiar patterns of the dacoit film genre.
