It is Independence Day, and in a small American town the local fire chief is busy with the holiday celebrations when giant alien craft appear in the sky and start destroying cities across the country. With the government in chaos and the President fighting for survival, the fire chief, his brother and a group of resourceful teenagers set out to find the invaders' weak spot and get the information to the people who can use it, while trying to keep their own families alive. Independence Daysaster is a disaster film made for television whose title openly spoofs Independence Day, and it delivers the same mix of exploding landmarks, heroic ordinary people and alien invaders on a smaller budget.
