Rajesh is a rich, charming womaniser who also happens to be a police officer. His comfortable world cracks when he sees what heroin is doing to the young people around him, and especially to his younger brother Raju, who falls deep into addiction. Rajesh turns his attention to the men who run the trade, a fight that becomes personal and puts everyone he loves in danger. Feroz Khan produced, directed and starred, giving it the glossy, stylish look of his films, with horses, cars and sharp clothes. Jaanbaaz is one of the earliest big Hindi films to make drug abuse its central theme. Kalyanji-Anandji's music was a major hit, including "Har kisi ko nahi milta yahan pyaar zindagi mein" and "Pyar do pyar lo", and Sridevi appears in a special role.
