Kathanam (2019)

Kathanam is a 2019 Telugu mystery thriller directed by Rajesh Nadendla, with television host and actress Anasuya Bharadwaj in the lead. She plays a young woman who wants to direct films and is working on a crime story; soon after, people around her begin to die in ways that echo the plot she has written, and she finds herself caught between the police and an unseen killer. Srinivas Avasarala and comedian Dhanraj appear in supporting roles. It is a compact, woman-led suspense film that leans on its story-within-a-story premise rather than spectacle, and a chance to see Anasuya carry a film on her own after her popular supporting turns in bigger Telugu releases.
