Maati Maangey Khoon (1984)

Maati Maangey Khoon ("the soil demands blood") is a mid-1980s Hindi action drama headlined by Shatrughan Sinha at the height of his popularity as a growling, larger-than-life hero, with Rekha and Reena Roy as his co-stars. As its title suggests, it belongs to the land-and-honour school of the period, where disputes over soil, family and justice end in confrontations settled with fists and guns. Expect the familiar ingredients of the era: heavy dialogue, sentiment, songs and climactic fights. Its main attraction today is seeing Shatrughan Sinha share the screen with two of the leading actresses of the time, and Reena Roy, his frequent co-star, in one of her later roles before her break from films.
