Meherbaani (1982)

Meherbaani ('kindness') is a 1982 Hindi family drama starring Hema Malini, with Sarika in a major role. It is a story of obligation and sacrifice, in which a favour done and a debt of gratitude shape the lives and loves of the women at its centre. Typical of the domestic melodramas of the period, it relies on emotional confrontations, family loyalties and songs, and is mainly of interest to admirers of its two leading ladies.
