Nanak Dukhiya Sub Sansar (1970)

Nanak Dukhiya Sub Sansar takes its title from a line attributed to Guru Nanak, 'O Nanak, the whole world is in sorrow'. It is a Punjabi drama directed by and starring Dara Singh, the famous wrestler turned actor, with two great names of Hindi cinema, Balraj Sahni and Prithviraj Kapoor, in major roles. The story deals with hardship, family and faith in a Sikh setting, with devotional songs and the moral seriousness its title promises. It was Dara Singh's first film as a director.
