Description

Shankar sets out to avenge his mother, who was abandoned by her wealthy husband years ago. On the way to the man's estate in the hills he meets and spars with the lively Meena, and discovers that an impostor is already trying to pass himself off as the long-lost heir. Romance, rivalry and mistaken identities follow, until the truth about the family's past is revealed. Nasir Hussain's first film as director is the film that made Shammi Kapoor a star: after a string of failures, he reinvented himself here as a fun-loving, rebellious hero with an Elvis-style swagger, and the image carried him through the 1960s. O. P. Nayyar's bouncy score, with Mohammed Rafi's "Yoon To Humne Lakh Haseen Dekhe Hain" and the title song, was a huge hit, and the film set the template for Hussain's later musical romances.

Wikipedia
The title song of Tumsa Nahin Dekha - both the Mohammed Rafi version and the Asha Bhosle version - was written by Sahir Ludhianvi, who then left the film. Majrooh Sultanpuri is credited as the lyricist and Sahir is not credited at all.
How we knowWikipedia's soundtrack table gives the lyricist of both 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha (Female)' and 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha (Male)' as 'Sahir Ludhianvi (uncredited)', and Majrooh Sultanpuri for the remaining five songs. Its production note says Sahir was the film's original lyricist, wrote the title song, and opted out. indiancine.ma records the lyricist as Majrooh Sultanpuri alone.
