Resham Ki Dori (1974)

Resham Ki Dori, "the silken thread", takes its title from the rakhi that ties a sister to her brother. Dharmendra plays a devoted elder brother whose protectiveness towards his sister, played by Kumari Naaz, lands him in a violent confrontation that turns him into a wanted man. Separated from his family, he must find his way back while staying a step ahead of the law, with Saira Banu as the woman who comes to love him. The film is best remembered for Shankar-Jaikishan's music, above all the rakhi song "Behna Ne Bhai Ki Kalai Se Pyar Baandha Hai", sung by Suman Kalyanpur, which remains a Raksha Bandhan favourite decades later.
