Description

A street performer humiliated by a rich family becomes the biggest dancer in the country. Mithun Chakraborty leads, with a Bappi Lahiri score. Disco Dancer was an extraordinary success outside India — in the Soviet Union it was one of the most-watched films ever released, and "Jimmy Jimmy Aaja" is still recognised across the former USSR, in China and across the Middle East. Mithun Chakraborty became a household name in countries that saw little other Indian cinema. The Internet Archive copy was uploaded with its format details disguised, so playback is withheld here; the entry stays listed and the Archive's own page remains reachable.
