Description

When her elder sister dies, a young woman is married to the widower and takes on the care of his children, who resent her as an intruder and see her as the classic cruel stepmother. Patient and dignified, she endures insults and misunderstandings within the family. Aurat (1967) was produced by Gemini Studios of Madras and is a Hindi remake of the Tamil film Chithi. It stars dancer-actress Padmini in the central role, with Rajesh Khanna in one of his very early films and Feroz Khan.
