Description

Sudhir and Prashant have been friends since childhood, and both grow up to become doctors. Sudhir is devoted to Kavita, but it is Prashant who marries her, and when Prashant's weakness lands him in serious trouble, Sudhir quietly takes the blame and the shame upon himself, sacrificing his reputation to protect his friend's family. As the years pass, the truth he has hidden threatens to come out. Hrishikesh Mukherjee, better known for his comedies, here made a restrained drama about friendship and silent sacrifice, with Amitabh Bachchan in one of his more understated roles of the early 1980s. R. D. Burman's score includes "Kitni Khoobsurat Yeh Tasveer Hai" and "Ae Ri Pawan".
